Hamilton High School, Hemet High School, Tahquitz High School, West Valley High School, WESTERN CENTER
The Hemet Education Foundation is pleased to announce its annual scholarship winners! We have awarded a $5,000.00 academic scholarship to a student at each of the five comprehensive high schools in the Hemet Unified School District (i.e., those schools noted above), and a $500.00 scholarship to a student at two alternative high schools: Alessandro HS and Helen Hunt Jackson/College Prep High School.
The criteria for awarding these scholarships includes a 3.0-3.9 GPA, financial need of the family, and a student who is not receiving significant financial assistance from other scholarships and awards; we want to award the student whose grades are appropriate, are good citizens, and may have special career goals that might not be pursued by the top of the line student.
The student may choose to attend a community college, trade school or a four year institution, but the amount awarded will be the same. If such a student does not use the entire amount during first year of college, the money would roll over to the second year.
STUDENTS SHOULD APPLY DIRECTLY WITH THEIR SCHOOL COUNSELOR IN CHARGE OF SCHOLARSHIPS.
